Self-less

KU basketball coach Bill self has decided to keep himself at Kansas rather than accept an offer to coach at Oklahoma State. Brimming with Self-confidence, Self proclaimed “I’m at peace with myself, and I just couldn’t have lived with myself if I had left. Home called, and I love home, but I also love myself, and Self loves Kansas." At an emotional news conference he held with Self, KU Athletic Director Lew Perkins added "I stand by Self. Bill has great Self-respect and I think his words are Self-explanatory."

Self’s selfless move left OSU Self-less. While Kansas has its Self back, OSU still needs to find itself a coach.

OSU Athletic Director Mike Holder was seen talking with Self for over two hours on Saturday, something he apparently does often, but the conversation had no result. “There’s no “self” in team, and there’s no Self at OSU” lamented Holder, “but KU has its Self, a great coach.” “I couldn’t have said it better myself” responded Perkins. Perkins added that he “had some trouble getting in touch with Self recently – I called Self but the line was always busy. I couldn’t be happier myself for Self and Self’s family.”

Ecstatic KU fans gathered outside the KU Athletics office chanting “ We love our Self” and “We just want to touch our Self!”

Some fear that the self-same approach will now label coaches who decide to stay with their current teams Self-ish. “I’m staying put and I made that decision myself, not having anything to do with Self,” said one coach, who would not identify himself.

(Sorry, couldn’t control my Self.)

I don't see how any Self-respecting coach could even contemplate leaving a team he just led to a championship. But, that Self-same coach may be feeling a bit too Self-satisfied. In fact, he probably considers himSelf to be a Self-made man. But he ought to remeber that it takes two to tango and he didn't get to the dance by himSelf.
